Planning a new or changed setup

Heat Pump Installation in Las Vegas

Adding a heat pump to a home that had something else—or to new space that never had heating and cooling—means planning for both seasons at once. The system has to handle a long summer and still keep you warm on a cold desert night.

We start with your home and how you use it, then talk through equipment and layout options that fit. Nothing gets chosen before the questions below are answered.

Installation or replacement?

These are different conversations. Installation usually means something about the setup is changing.

Installation

A first heat pump in the home, a switch from a furnace and AC or electric heat, new space like an addition, or a different layout such as ductless zones.

Before equipment is chosen

What we look at first

A heat pump has to fit the home’s heating and cooling needs together. These are the main things reviewed before an estimate is written.

Permit and inspection requirements depend on the scope of work and your property’s jurisdiction. Your estimate should spell out which apply.

  • Heating and cooling load. Sizing is based on the home itself—layout, insulation, windows, sun exposure—not square footage alone or the size of the old unit.
  • Home layout. Which rooms run hot or cold, and whether one system or separate zones makes more sense.
  • Ducts or another way to deliver air. Existing ducts may or may not suit a heat pump. Some homes need duct changes; others are better served by ductless indoor units.
  • Electrical service. A heat pump may need different electrical capacity or circuits than the equipment it replaces.
  • Outdoor placement. Where the outdoor unit can sit with enough clearance for airflow and service access.
  • Controls. A thermostat that’s compatible with heat pump heating, cooling and any backup heat.

How an installation comes together

  1. Talk through the goal

Tell us what you’re heating and cooling, what you have now and what hasn’t worked.

  2. Visit and assessment

A technician reviews the home, ducts or distribution options, electrical service and placement.

  3. Written scope

You get the recommended equipment and the work involved, so you can compare options.

  4. Installation and walkthrough

After the work, we show you the controls and how the system switches between heating and cooling.
