New or changed cooling

Air Conditioner Installation in Las Vegas

Finishing an addition, turning a garage into living space, or rethinking how your home is cooled? An installation is the moment to get the plan right—because a system that’s the wrong size or poorly placed can struggle every summer for years.

Frosty Desert plans air conditioner installations for homes in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and nearby communities. We look at your home and how you live in it before talking about equipment.

Square footage alone doesn’t size a system

Two homes with the same square footage can need very different cooling. Window size and direction, insulation, ceiling height, shade and how many people live there all change how much heat a home picks up on a Las Vegas afternoon.

A proper cooling load assessment accounts for those details. It helps avoid a system that’s too small to keep up or too large to run efficiently and control humidity and comfort well.

Before equipment is chosen

What we plan for

A good installation depends on more than the box itself. These are the pieces we look at with you.

Leave electrical panels and wiring to qualified professionals.

  • Cooling load. How much cooling each part of the home actually needs, based on the house, not a rule of thumb.
  • Air distribution. Whether ducts and vents can deliver air where it’s needed. Existing ductwork may need repairs or changes; we check rather than assume it’s adequate.
  • Placement. Where the outdoor and indoor equipment can go with room for airflow, service access and noise considerations.
  • Electrical needs. Whether your electrical service and circuit can support the new equipment, or if changes are needed.
  • Drainage. How condensate will drain safely away from the home.
  • Local approvals. Permits and inspections required by your city or county for the work.

Common installation situations

Additions and converted spaces

New rooms may need their own cooling plan or changes to the existing system. We’ll look at what the space needs and what your current setup can handle.

Homes changing systems

Switching how your home is cooled—or deciding between an air conditioner and a heat pump—is a good time to revisit sizing and ductwork.

Replacing an existing AC instead?

If you already have central air and it’s aging or failing, our replacement page covers that decision.

How an installation comes together

  1. Talk it through

Tell us about the space, your current system if any, and what you want to change.

  2. Assess the home

A technician reviews load, ducts, placement, electrical and drainage on site.

  3. Review options

You get a written estimate that explains the equipment and the work involved.

  4. Install and test

The system is installed, started and checked, and required inspections are scheduled.
