Cooling for desert summers

Air Conditioner Services in Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, your air conditioner isn’t a summer convenience—it carries your home through months of triple-digit afternoons. When it struggles, you notice fast: a bedroom that never cools down, a thermostat that keeps climbing, a system that runs and runs.

Frosty Desert helps homeowners in Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and nearby communities with air conditioner repair, installation, replacement and maintenance. Start with what you’re noticing, and we’ll help you sort out what comes next.

Something’s wrong today

Warm air, weak airflow, a new noise, water where it shouldn’t be, or a system that won’t start.

You’re wondering if it’s time

Repeat repairs, an older system or rooms that have never been comfortable can make replacement worth a look.

Why one room can be hot while another feels fine

Comfort isn’t only about the equipment. Rooms with west-facing windows can take the full afternoon sun. Upstairs bedrooms collect heat that rises through the house. A room at the far end of a long duct run may get less air than one close to the system.

Airflow matters too. A clogged filter, closed or blocked vents, or ductwork that leaks or was never balanced can leave some rooms short. And the system’s own condition—dirty coils, worn parts, a low refrigerant charge from a leak—can limit how much cooling it delivers.

Any one of these can make a home feel uneven, and more than one can be at work at once. A technician can look at the system and the house together instead of guessing.

If your equipment is on the roof

Some Las Vegas homes have their heating and cooling equipment in a single packaged cabinet on the roof instead of a separate outdoor unit and indoor system. If yours is up there, the roof is where much of the service work happens.

Leave roof access to the technician. Walking on tile or shingle roofs can damage them and is a real fall risk, especially in summer heat. Let us know when you book that your system is on the roof so the technician comes prepared.

Air conditioner or heat pump?

From the outside, a central air conditioner and a heat pump can look almost the same. Both use an outdoor unit and refrigerant to move heat out of your home in summer. The difference is that a heat pump can also run in reverse to heat your home in winter, while an air conditioner only cools and is usually paired with a furnace.

If you aren’t sure which you have, check the thermostat for heat pump or auxiliary heat settings, or look at the outdoor unit’s label. A technician can confirm it during a visit. If you have a heat pump, our heat pump pages may fit your situation better.
